Boston Travel Deals and Vacation Packages
Have you finally closed the deal on those vacation packages and travel deals to Boston? Congratulations, you have just gotten yourself a vacation to one of the most historic cities in America. Boston is one of the largest cities in the New England area and the city retains a largely European flavor. And any like any European city—you must explore this place on foot.
Boston truly ranks high among other cities when it comes to cost of living. So you might as well save up on that car rental by walking your way towards downtown Boston. You will never regret this choice because it will allow you to take a closer look at one of the best cities in America. Boston is host to the myriad of revolutionary sites, not least of which is the Freedom Trail. Trace the history of democracy in the New World through an exploration of the city’s attractions. But if history is not for you, it’s good to know that Boston offers everything from centers of higher education, to professional sports, to museums and lastly, to mouth-watering cuisine.
All of this is really a lot to take in, so let’s do a run-down of what sights, smells and tastes Boston can offer you. The Black Heritage Trail winds through Beacon Hill and Boston Common. This two-hour trail is the path that brought people to the secret meetings where they discussed freedom—specifically those of the African-American slaves back then.
Along this trail, you’ll begin to see Boston come alive. One of the best stops in this trail is the “festival market”. Originally the Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, this area is home to Boston’s largest comedy venue, the Comedy Connection, and the host of some of the most fun events in the city. Beacon Hill is home to the famous Cheers bar, the inspiration for the hit TV series called Cheers. Even if the lines are long, fans of the show still flock to Boston to pay homage to this cozy bar—which looks nothing like the set of the show!
If you’re looking for something a bit more laidback yet entertaining, Harvard Square is a place where you can watch people from all walks of life. This is the place in Boston where punks can meet dusty old college professors! A more serious form of entertainment is challenging the Chessmaster for US$2 who is right there in the square.
Another form of entertainment is circulating through the different museums Boston has to offer. This city is home to more than its fair share of museums, and there is a museum guaranteed to tickle anyone’s interest. You can find the Boston’s Children Museum, U.S.S. Constitution Museum, Franklin Park Zoo, Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal Art and so many more! You’ll never run out of museums to visit, really.
If you want to rest your weary feet, get a ticket for any harbor cruise where you can just sit down and allow the wind to soothe your tire out. Clearly, Boston is a handful if you plan to go on a vacation here. So having booked those travel deals and vacation packages should not cause you to regret!
